Perhentian Island Challenge 2008

http://thestar.com.my/lifestyle/story.asp?file=/2008/11/15/lifetravel/2519835&sec=lifetravel

A different kind of challenge….kayaking and swimming in crystal clear waters, running across fine sandy beaches and through lush jungles. Anyone care to share their experience?

I was there too. Infact Andrew's group was the first that I met at the Jetty. I heard his group speak Penang Hokkien :-) We arrived there on time as the buses were very late. Unfortunately I didn't talk to Andrew but to some of his other friends. Wanted to ask if any of them might have known you (Shaun) but didn't think it was that coincidental. Then only did I find out in Facebook that Andrew indeed knew you. The race was hell but a great experience overall. Never had so many cans of 100 Plus in a day. I dod believe my kayak was 'sabotaged' as it was not moving no matter how hard my colleague and I paddled :-) Of course since I was not rushing, I had time to take some pictures on the way. Didn't know cameras were not allowed. I still don't know why.

Hi Wai Onn, thanks for sharing ur experience. Yes i knew Andrew from PAC. We had a few hiking trips together.
I also heard that the kayaks were not arranged in an orderly manner, so u guys have to scramble to look for ur no. Must be tough swimming in open water.
Wonder why they don't allow photography?
Have u tried the Genting Trailblazer?
